Chapter 2:
Planting the Seeds
At the heart of Amity are our two core programs, designed to nurture emotional wellbeing and prevent loneliness from the earliest years of life.
The Art of Connection: Roots
A four-year program delivered in 10-15minute daily sessions, beginning in preschool.
Roots is built to grow with the child. It fosters self-love, inclusiveness, and emotional intelligence at the precise age when children begin forming early relationships and learning about empathy, fairness, social rules, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
By guiding children through these foundational years, Roots helps them develop stronger peer connections and a sense of group belonging. Essential ingredients for lifelong emotional health.
If we can reach them early and guide them well, we can change the way they grow as human beings, reducing loneliness and the risk of mental health challenges later in life.
The Art of Connection: Wings
A flexible 15-minute program designed for day, after-school, or extracurricular settings, tailored to teenagers.
While Roots is transformative, shaping habits and instincts during the most formative years of childhood, Wings is a practical toolbox.
It equips teens with essential skills to navigate the emotional ups and downs of life’s challenges; from friendships and identity to stress, disappointment, and change.
If Roots becomes second nature, like using a fork and knife, then Wings is the toolkit we reach for when life presents its challenges.
